Scrap Heap Challenge!

The environmental department of High Peak Borough Council have awarded the Friends of Pavilion Gardens £500 to run an exciting campaign to educate children and adults to save energy in a fun and exiting way. By using quizzes, ideas and challenges the group will provide fun information packs for children to use at home. They hope to work with school children on how to grow vegetables in their own gardens and window sills.

During the annual May day event which takes place in the Pavilion Gardens and is run by the Friends, they will be holding a Scrap Heap Challenge- for adults and children to make something exciting or unusual from recycled materials. People will also have the chance to try can crushers and log makers.
